About the company

 

bmi is the second-largest full-service scheduled airline in the United Kingdom. The airline's headquarters are at Donington Hall, close to Nottingham East Midlands Airport. It flies to destinations across Europe as well as to The United States, India, the Caribbean and Saudi Arabia.

bmi's operational base is London Heathrow, where it holds 12% of all take off and landing slots and operates over 1,700 flights a week. The airline was formerly known as British Midland.

Minimum requirements needed to apply as cabin crew

 

g Minimum age 18

g Height must be between 5'2" & 6'2" with weight in proportion

g Minimum of 4 GCSE's at grade A-C including maths and English or the equivalent (NVQ level 2/grade

      1 CSE only) Certificates must be presented at your interview or before employment.

g Hold a Valid 10 year UK or EU country issued passport or have indefinite right to live and work in

      the UK, as well as any relevant visas.  Copies of passport stamps must be included with applications

      for non-European passport holders.

g Minimum 12 months in a customer-facing role.

g A high standard of physical fitness and a visual acuity of 6/9 in each eye, aided or unaided.  Contact

      lenses are preferred but glasses are acceptable.

g A good standard of fluency in the English language.

g Immaculate appearance

g Second language is desirable

g Catering/hospitality knowledge/experience desirable

g Nursing or first aid desirable

What you can expect working for bmi

g First class training and career progression

g A competitive starting salary which is presently £10,149.00 per annum

g London Heathrow weighting is paid at a rate of £2,547.00 per annum

g Earn hourly flight allowances and commission from saleable bars

g Salary review each year and pay scales dependent on rank and length of service

g 20 days paid holiday plus 8 days in lieu of bank holidays

g After a qualifying period you will be entitled to concessionary travel

g Company pension scheme
