Positions they recruit for

 

Chalet Host (Ski Season)

As a chalet host you will be based in one of Nielson's chalets in Europe. You will be responsible for providing catering and hospitality services to your guests and ensuring that they are made comfortable during their stay. Your duties include: preparing breakfast, a packed lunch, afternoon tea and a three-course evening meal six nights a week; cleaning the chalet on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis; providing guests with information, help and advice; completing company paperwork; and controlling the budget for the chalet.

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g Preferably educated to GCSE level or equivalent

g Basic knowledge of a second European language would be an advantage

g Evidence of catering experience at a practical level is required

 

 

Ski Representative (Ski Season)

As a Ski Representative you will be a member of our ‘front line’ team, meeting guests on a daily basis. Your primary task will be to ensure the well-being and welfare of our guests during their stay. You will also be required to provide a ski-leading service for guests up to five days per week.

Responsibilities include: accompanying airport transfers; holding weekly welcome meetings; daily hotel visits, preparing and operating a snow focused programme of events, financial accounting; health & safety audits, completing company paperwork, general admin tasks and ensuring that the whole resort operation runs smoothly.

The ideal candidate should be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and have a good command of French, German or Italian. Experience of working in a customer service industry is essential. You should be a strong communicator and confident that you can work independently. All Ski Representatives should be physically fit, able to ski or board to an advanced level and preferably hold a skiing qualification.

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

g Experience of working in a customer service industry is essential

g Be a strong communicator and confident that you can work independently

g Be physically fit, able to ski or snowboard to an advanced level and preferably hold a skiing

Learn To Turn Ski Representative (Ski Season)

A Learn To Turn Representative is fully involved in the organisation of all aspects of beginners' holidays, working closely with ski school and the ski hire shop to ensure a high level of guest service. To be suitable for this role you will need to be very customer focused and patient. Learn to Turn Representatives will be expected to be on the slopes most days spending time in the beginners' ski school groups along with the guests.

In certain resorts the Learn to Turn role is only part-time and the rest of your time you will be performing the usual 'repping' duties (as above).

This role is perfect if you enjoy teaching and spending time with beginners and/or if you need to log time on the slopes for a BASI qualification.

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g Preferably educated to GCSE level or equivalent

g Have a good command of French, German or Italian

g Experience of working in a customer service industry is essential

g Be a strong communicator and confident that you can work independently

g Be physically fit, able to ski or snowboard to an advanced level and preferably hold a skiing

      qualification

 

Administrators (Summer & Winter)

You will be responsible for the administration function for an overseas resort and may work alone or be part of a large admin team, supporting the Area Manager. Duties will include customer service enquiries, co-ordinating airport transfers, accommodation reservations, financial accounting and general administration.

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g A knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and email is Essential

g A second language is preferred

 

Starfish Nanny (Summer)

Do you have a friendly and outgoing personality, with a genuine enthusiasm for childcare? If so this position could be ideal for you. To work with the Starfish children you need to have a level 3 or equivalent childcare qualification and experience of working with this age range. Your responsibilities will include working as part of the childcare team, providing care for children aged 4 months to 2 years. You must ensure a safe, stimulating and activity packed environment is maintained within our resort crèche. Y

g Ideally you will enjoy or have an interest in learning active sports.

 

Sea Urchin Children's Club Staff

Do you have a friendly and outgoing personality with bags of enthusiasm? Your responsibilities will include being an active member of the childcare team, working in the Sea Urchins creche, you should be self-motivated and able to providing activities for children aged 2 to 5 years. This involves entertaining them with fun and varied activities, both indoors and out in a stimulating and safe environment.

A great experience working overseas in a summer resort and a way to try new sports

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g You need either a level 2 childcare qualification or experience of working with this age range

g Ideally you will enjoy or have an interest in learning active sports.

Entertainment Co-ordinator

As an Entertainment Co-ordinator you will be a member of the 'front line' team in one of the BeachPlus resorts. Your primary task will be to organise and deliver a varied programme of daytime sports and evening events within the hotel.

Responsibilities include: creating and organising 'opt in' events and entertainment programme; organising events such as water polo, volleyball, 5-a-side football, pool & table tennis competitions for adults and children; producing and compering quizzes; organising and co-ordinating disco evenings; compering the weekly wakeboarding & waterski show; organising cookery demonstrations and cocktail classes; organising outside entertainers to perform at the hotel; lots and lots of PR, etc.

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g Preferably educated to GCSE level or equivalent

g Have previous experience within this kind of job role

g Experience of working in a customer service industry is essential

g Be a strong communicator and confident that you can work independently

g Experience in playing a musical instrument (guitar, keyboard etc) would be an advantage

g Knowledge of Greek or Turkish language would be an advantage

What you can expect working for Neilson

Neilson's offer a competitive salary in addition to all of the following:

 

g   Bonus - if a satisfactory season is completed a completion of contract bonus is payable to all  

      employees.

 

g Training - a residential training course is provided for all employees prior to the start of the season.

 

g Holiday - all employees are entitled to leave in addition to their day off per week. For summer

      employees this would include a paid week off during the season (for employees with sufficient

      entitlement).

 

g Accommodation - provided, often with two people sharing a room. Managers occupy a single

      room.  Cooking facilities and showers may also be shared. Accommodation afloat for flotilla crews is

      based  on a minimum of three to a yacht.

 

g Travel - Neilson's arrange travel from the UK to your overseas resort and back at the end of your

      contract. We also contribute to travel expenses to your UK departure airport.

 

g Insurance - Company insurance looks after any emergency medical and emergency dental

       expenses along with personal belongings cover.

 

g Uniform - a company uniform is provided which is expected to be worn at designated times.

 

g Activities - for ski season staff they will provide a local lift pass for your local ski area and ski and 

      boot hire will be provided for the season. For summer season staff all equipment is available for use

      in your free time if not being used by guests.

 

g Holiday Concessions - whilst employed by the Company you, and your family, will be eligible for a

     range of travel discounts on company products. Your personal discount increases with amount of 

     seasons you complete.
