Powder Byrne's portfolio of holiday products includes 'Original Skiing', offering quality hotels in top Alpine ski resorts, and 'Resorts', their summer programme providing a selection of exotic 4 and 5 star luxury hotel destinations.

Powder Byrne leave the hotel staffing to the local professionals but recruit their own staff to provide those little extras that make up the Powder Byrne experience.

At Powder Byrne their service is only as good as their staff and since every holiday must be exceptional they only recruit the best people.

Positions they recruit for

 

Resort Manager (Summer)

Responsible for managing a team of staff in resort and ensuring Powder Byrne maintains it's high standard of customer service.

Resort Managers lead from the front in all aspects of resort life, from arranging golf lessons to airport transfers. During the summer season the Resort Manager is the key host for all guests, providing a very personal approach to customer care.

A very challenging position, requiring excellent logistical and leadership skills, a positive approach towards resort work and the ability to trouble shoot.

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g Have at least 12 months experience working in a customer service environment

g Experience gained within a sales or negotiation environment, would be an advantage

 

 

Crèche Manager (Summer & Winter)

 

The Powder Byrne crèche is called the 'pb' Club. It provides for their youngest guests aged between 6 months and 3 years with a stimulating programme of activities in a fully equipped crèche room, between 9:30am and 4pm six days a week.

Crèche Managers are completely responsible for all aspects involved with setting up and running a fully operational crèche abroad.

Successful Crèche Managers will not only have an excellent approach to childcare, but will also have the ability to liase with the parents and hotel as a key member of the Powder Byrne resort team.

 

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g NNEB qualification or equivalent (required)

g Relevant nanny experience

g Experience in handling sensitive childcare issues

g Languages (Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese) (desirable)

 

 

Crèche Assistant (Summer & Winter)

 

The Powder Byrne crèche is called the 'pb' Club. It provides for our youngest guests aged between 6 months and 3 years with a stimulating programme of activities in a fully equipped crèche room, between 9am and 4pm six days a week.

Crèche Assistants are responsible for assisting the Crèche Manager in all aspects involved with setting up and running a fully operational crèche abroad.

Successful Crèche Assistants will be expected to provide professional assistance to the Manager, providing a wide range of activates for children with an enthusiastic attitude.

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g NNEB qualification or equivalent (required for long periods, desirable for shorter contracts)

g Relevant nanny experience

 

 

Scallywags Manager

 

The Scallywags Club provides their younger guests aged between 4 and 9 years with a fun an exciting daily programme based both on an off the hotel grounds.

With the emphasis being on outdoor sports and indoor creative activities the Scallywags Manager is responsible for planning and running the club.

Liaising with parents, hotel suppliers and co-ordinating the Scallywags team requires a strong all-rounder, with huge amounts of energy!

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g Experience of working with children (required)

g Full clean driving license, held for a minimum of 1 year (required)

g Previous customer service experience (required)

g Languages (Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese) (desirable)

g Previous resort experience (desirable)

g Sports instruction qualifications i.e. golf / tennis (desirable)

 

 

Scallywags Assistant

The Scallywags Club provides their younger guests aged between 4 and 9 years with a fun an exciting daily programme based both on an off the hotel grounds.

With the emphasis being on outdoor sports and indoor creative activities the Scallywags Assistant is responsible providing a fun and safe environment in which the children can enjoy all aspects of the programme.

A Scallywags Assistant has to be very enthusiastic, aware of safety issues involved with supervising children and happy to help out in all areas concerning the guest’s holiday.

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g Experience of working with children 4 to 9 in a position of responsibility (desirable)

g Previous customer care experience (required)

g Languages (Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese) (desirable)

g Sports instruction qualifications i.e. golf / tennis (desirable)

 

 

The Zone Manager

For the older Powder Byrne children aged between 9 and 14 years, TheZone Club offers an active programme based on outdoor adventure sports.

TheZone Manager takes sole responsibility of all aspects of the club, working out the budgets, safety aspects and running the programme, as well as liasing with local sports instructors for specialised activities e.g. water-skiing.

The position requires someone with a sporting background, endless amounts of energy, safety awareness and the ability to relate to older children.

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g Experience of working with children (required)

g Full clean driving license, held for a minimum of 1 year (required)

g Previous customer service experience (required)

g Languages (Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese) (desirable)

The Resort Manager (Winter)

Yeti/Ski Manager (Winter)

 

The Yeti Club is an exclusive ski club for our budding younger skiers aged between 4 and 10 years. The children are picked up by Powder Byrne staff from the hotels and taught to ski by local professional ski instructors during the day (under the close supervision of our Yeti staff).

The Yeti / Ski Manager is responsible for planning and running the Yeti Club during Peak Weeks, as well as managing a team of assistants. They then assume the role of Ski Manager outside the Peak Weeks, ski guiding adult guests around the ski area.

Requiring a wide range of skills from ski guiding adults to managing a large team of Yeti staff. You will need a passion for skiing, a good rapport with children and have the ability to think logistically when it comes to organising the Yeti Club.

The role of Yeti / Ski Manager is one of the most challenging positions in the Alps!

To apply for this position you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

g Advanced level skier / snow boarder (a minimum of 20 weeks is required)

g Experience of working with children aged 4 - 9 years (required)

g Full clean driving license, held for a minimum of 1 year (required)

g Experience in handling sensitive guest issues (required).

Yeti Assistant (Winter)

For the children in the Yeti Club, skiing for the first time can be a very daunting prospect. Powder Byrnes aim therefore is to provide a fun club that combines ski instruction from the professional locals with a friendly and fun environment provided by the Yeti team.

Accompanying the children to and from the slopes, encouraging them whilst skiing, supervising them over lunch and providing games in between skiing is all part of a Yeti day. In the evening the children are supervised during the Yeti Supper and enjoy evening activities e.g. quizzes, videos etc.

Yeti staff are employed for their ability to create a fun and safe club environment, ensuring the children go home with fond memories of their time on the slopes.
