As a member of their Overseas team, you will be
the face of Thomson. Whether you represent
Thomson, Skytours or Portland Holidays, you will
be one of the first members of staff that the
holidaymaker meets. As such, Thomson will be

quality service throughout their holiday.

Although their holidays vary to suit all ages
and tastes, Thomson holiday makers can always

from their resort team. If your application is
successful, you will receive initial training to
prepare you for your new role and the training
will continue throughout your career. Thomson

maintained.

Positions
they recruit for
Holiday Representative
As a
Holiday Representative your main priority will be to
ensure Thomson customers have a fun, enjoyable
holiday. So, what will you need to do to ensure the
customers do have a fantastic time?
-
find out everything there is to know about the
resort, so that you become a local expert on the
area.
-
keep up to date with the local events and
activities to pass that on to the customers.
-
know the excursions inside out and be able to
clearly identify the type of clientele each one
will be most suited to.
-
sell the resort excursions and other activities
e.g. car hire.
-
spend a lot of time with your customers so you
understand how you can best help them to get the
most from their holiday.
You
will be involved in a variety of activities
including:
Holding What's on Welcomes , these will be held soon
after your customers arrive in the resort. This will
be your opportunity to promote the accommodation
facilities, to tell them all about the great things
to do in resort and to promote the range of
excursion activities on offer.
As
well as establishing good rapport with your
customers, you will also need to have excellent
working relationships with your hoteliers, hotel
staff and other suppliers.
Another occasion, where you will be together with
your customers is when you are guiding. This is
where you accompany an excursion. It is, of course,
important that you are visible and attentive to the
needs of our customers so that the trip meets, if
not exceeds, their expectations.
You
may also be involved in escorting your customers
from the airport to their accommodation and vice
versa.
Once
you have worked as a Holiday Representative , there
will be various other opportunities open to you. As
you become familiar with Thomsons diverse range of
products and programmes you may opt to do something
a little different e.g. work on our Superfamily or
Gold programme.
To apply for this position you must
meet the following minimum requirements:
g Hold a
minimum of 5 GCSE's including Maths and English
g
At least 12 months experience working with people
in customer service and/or a sales role
g ability
to speak a second language will come in useful but is not essential
Children's Reps & Nursery Nurses
Thomsons Children's Representatives ensure family
holidays run smoothly and are fun for everyone. The
job involves organising a varied programme of
daytime and evening activities for large groups of
children between the ages of three and twelve. You
will also be responsible for supervising early
suppers, telling bedtime stories and always making
sure that the children remain safe, healthy and
happy throughout their holiday.
The
activities range from fancy dress parties, games and
competitions to treasure hunts, walks and face
painting. You will also attend the what's on welcome
to explain your role and you must be happy to help
out in other ways such as accompanying holidaymakers
to and from the airport.
To
be a successful Children's Representative or Nursery
Nurse you will need to be patient, imaginative and
have the energy and stamina to work the flexible
hours often required. At the same time, you will
constantly be on your toes; common sense and
initiative are just as important as enjoying working
with children. Whilst being able to communicate well
with children, you will also have daily contact with
parents and other holidaymakers so you must have the
maturity to communicate at all levels.
You
must be able to cope working on your own as well as
with others so self-motivation and the ability to
work well as part of a team are necessary
attributes.

Hold an NNEB or NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or
equivalent
g
Have at least 6 months experience of working with
children
g
Have a First Aid certificate
Resort Administrators
Working behind the scenes you will play an integral role
in the running of the overseas operation.
Completing all necessary paperwork, ordering supplies,
rostering, arranging arrivals and departures are just
some of the duties of a Resort Administrator. .

meet the following minimum requirements:

Have at least 12 months work experience in an
administration role

Have an understanding of Word & Excel
g Hold 5
GCSE's Grade C or above or equivalent

Hosts
Thomson carefully tailor Thomson Gold holidays to
meet the needs of couples. As a host you'll be at
the heart of this. You'll work to deliver a full
varied entertainment programme. By day, you'll
organise a variety of pastimes. At night you'll be
centre stage - performing in shows, acting as host
and compere for visiting professional acts.
To apply for this position you must
meet the following minimum requirements:

Previous experience of entertaining an audience at
either amateur or professional level in the leisure
industry is
essential
g
You'll be as natural on stage as you are off
g
A strong singer with good vocal range and technique
Gold Technicians
Working as a Thomson Stage Technician means
making sure our evening entertainment is as
professional as it is enjoyable.
Your challenge will be to maintain and operate
sound and light equipment, and to ensure that
our stage areas are kept to a high standard. All
this, while liaising with visiting artistes, and
the Gold entertainment team.

meet the following minimum requirements:

It is essential you have experience of sound and
light equipment in a theatrical environment
g You'll
also have excellent customer service skills.
Superfamily Entertainers
Thomson carefully
tailor Thomson Superfamily holidays to meet the
needs of families. As an entertainer you’ll work
to deliver a full and varied family focused
programme. By day, you'll organise a variety of
activities. At night you'll be centre stage -
performing in shows or acting as host and
compere.
